Thankful for the flu

Last week we had the flu, or some bug that made us all throw-up. (I'm thankful that it is now a memory.) The little one got it a couple of days before me. So she was better by the time the bug hit me in the middle of the night. I thought the other two kids would probably get sick too. And they did - soon after me. (I'm thankful I was prepared.)
The middle child and I were sitting on the bathroom floor when big brother came in and said he didn't feel good. He then threw up - so all three of us had to change pjs. (I'm thankful for my washing machine.)
My dear husband was feeling fine in the morning and stayed home to help me with the kids. (I'm thankful for my helpful husband.) He went to work in the afternoon and didn't get sick until the middle of that night. So he was home from work for a day. (I'm thankful that he had sick days to use.) The roads were bad that day so I'm thankful he didn't have to be out in bad driving conditions.
After having the flu good health is something I'm very thankful for!

Aren't they sweet!

My kids love to listen to stories. Their uncle gave them a book about a year ago that is fun to read and will ring true with many moms.

Where's the Baby? by Pat Hutchins is one of my kids favorites.
"Summary: When Grandma, Ma, and Hazel Monster want to find Baby Monster, they follow the messy trail he has left." At the end of the book they find Baby Monster back in his crib and Grandma says "isn't he sweet!" to which Hazel replies "Yes, when he's asleep."

My little ones are all asleep right now. What a wonderful moment.
