A bigger house?

Today we had some relatives stop by. We live in a small 3 bedroom house with basement. Upon seeing our basement storage area (which is quite full) one of the relatives said "you'll need a bigger house soon". My response was "no, we just need to get rid of stuff."
I'd love to have a big house with lots of space but I don't "need" it. And, my husband and I agree that with more space we would just be tempted to fill it with more stuff. We already have more stuff than we need. The boxes we haven't opened since we moved in October 2005 could probably go.
After switching bedrooms with Daniel in preparation for his baby brother's arrival my husband and I are once again in the mood to purge our home of the things we don't use. Maybe we'll have to start a list again. After our move in October 2005 we got rid of more than a van load of stuff. We'll see how much goes this time.

Must Match...

The other night my 4 year old daughter woke me up to change her bed (she hasn't had an accident for a long time - oh well these things happen). When I gave her a pair of pants to put on she cried because "they don't match".

In the middle of the night when it's dark I really don't care what my children wear. But, my sanguine daughter seems to be very concerned about her appearance. She did calm down and go back to sleep after I explained that no one could see her and that she could put on matching clothes at wake up time.

I wonder what this next child will be like. It won't be long. Yesterday we made a paper chain as a visual count down to my due date - October 5. Kevin's prediction for baby's arrival is September 27. We shall see.

Summer's flying

The summer is flying by as we take a break from school.

The kids enjoyed VBS at our church.
They are doing the library summer reading program.
I attend a Bible study on Tuesday mornings so the kids get to play with friends then.
Each of the children has spent a day with Grandma (Dino-Dan said it was like a birthday - he got to do whatever he wanted). The kids love the time with Grandma but have to adjust to life at home when they get back (they don't get quite as many choices here).
Our summer family adventure was a trip to Indiana for the fourth of July. Kevin's sister bought a house so we went to visit and Kevin and his dad helped her with some projects around the house.
Well it's about lunch time so I'd better go feed my three.

I'm enjoying the summer and know that the fall will be challenging. Our schedule will change with the start of school and then the arrival of baby number four.
