Fun - he's the only one

The little guy and I had a good time Tuesday and Wednesday.  It was just me and him - daddy and 3 sibs are in Michigan and the other two sibs are still in Ethiopia.  I'll be going to get them soon.

Teeth

The 8 year old saw the orthodontist last week.
It was recommended that these baby teeth be removed.
Yesterday we went to the dentist and got them pulled.
She did great!

She's happy!  The "Tooth Fairy" came and left her two gold dollars.
Once the "Tooth Ogre" came.  He only left a quarter
because it was an old tooth - she had put it away and saved it for a while
instead of putting it out right away for the "Tooth Fairy".
Once the "Tooth Cowboy" came to our house
(I guess the "Tooth Fairy" was busy).
The "Tooth Cowboy" even left a cute picture of himself.

School Shoes

After getting the tires on the van rotated this morning we went shoe shopping.  School starts August 8th.  Next week the 10 year old is headed to Michigan to spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa and then it's off to Camp Blast for a week.   I'm not sure when I will be traveling back to Ethiopia (hopefully soon).  So, today seemed a good day to get shoes.  Hopefully they don't outgrow them before school starts.

Shoes for the four blue eyed kids who are going to public school this year.

Men's size 10.5 for the 12 year old who will be in 7th grade.

Women's size 8 for the 10 year old who will be in 6th grade.

Kid's size 3 for the 8 year old who will be in 3rd grade.

Kids size 12 for the 5 year old who will be in 1st grade.

These were so cute I didn't resist
when my red head encouraged me to get them.
They are a kid's size 8 for our 3 year old brown eyed beauty.
I didn't get any for our 6 year old boy today.

Landscaping

My 5 year old boy and his 8 year old sister have been playing together all afternoon.  While cleaning, I walked in on this and he said "I'm landscaping my mailbox".  I love my kids.  Our 12 year old boy has been reading most of the afternoon - I think he finished a dragon story.  Our red-headed beauty has been organizing the stuff in her room - trying to consolidate and get rid of some stuff.  My husband is working til about three and then we are all off to his parents house to celebrate with family (they just live about 10 minutes away).  Then it's back home this evening to watch the fireworks from our driveway.

I'm looking forward to traveling back to Ethiopia and bringing our two brown eyed children home so they can join in all the fun. He's six years old and she's three.

Happy 4th of July.
