A visit to Bancroft, Michigan

The kids and I had a great time visiting my parents while my husband painted the interior of our new house. A big thanks to the family and friends that helped him! And, a big thanks to my parents for helping me with the kids!

Our little guy...

Our little guy has decided to pull up and have a look around our new house. He also has decided that climbing stairs is fun. Good thing we have a baby gate.

Our new house

I like our new house. It feels spacious and it's our space. Yea!
As you can see we are still unpacking.

We've moved in...

We still have lots of things in boxes and a few things are still over at my sister-in-laws.
We are hoping to live here for a long time. My husband with the help of some good friends painted - so the place looks fresh and I'm just so happy to have a permanent address.
I'll try to post pictures soon.

We have a closing date...

YEA!!!
We finally have a closing date - July 18th.
This week and next the kids and I are in Michigan at my parents house.
I'll take the little guy down to Indy with me for closing and then come back up for the other kids while my wonderful husband gets going on preparing the house for us to move into.
The wait will soon be over.

No closing date yet...

Well, we still don't have a closing date yet. But, our Realtor talked to someone at HUD and it seems the problem may be with the title company. HUD has heard complaints from others about this title company - we went with the one they recommended - may be time for them to choose a new title company.
Anyway, the kids and I are going to head up to Michigan and visit with my parents for a couple weeks. The kids will enjoy the space to run and be as loud as they want and I'll enjoy sleeping in a bed again! I also like my parents and miss being close enough to run over for a day every now and then. It will be good to spend time with them. I'll just have to drive back down to Indy for our closing.

Good book

My sister-in-law works at The Children's Museum here in Indianapolis. She has an elementary education degree and enjoys reading children's literature.

The other day she brought a book home and the whole family read it. Kevin read it in one night and I read it to the kids in a day.

It's a big fat book (maybe a couple hundred pages - I'd check but Kathy already returned it to the library). But, it's half illustrations. The black and white drawings help tell the story.
So, if you are looking for a good story check out The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. We all enjoyed it!
