The zoo

She needed a talking too before she adjusted her attitude and would smile for the camera.
We went to the zoo with the lady who is in charge of children at our church.
It's been different having the older 2 gone for 8 hours a day.

First Day of Public School

Yesterday was the first day of public school for my older two kids. They rode the bus, took their lunches, and had a great first day. They both like their teachers and are looking forward to learning and making friends. Our older boy was especially excited about access to new books in the school library and our red head is excited about making new friends. Here are a couple of pictures from before school. It does seem really weird that they are now gone for 8 hours during the day. I'm a bit sad about that. It's different without them here at home.

Chips anyone?

Back in October 2005 daughter #2 tripped and chipped a front tooth. Yesterday son #2 fell and chipped a front tooth. He has a fat lip now but enjoyed the ice pop he got right after the fall. An ice pop is more fun than mommy trying to hold an icepack on the lip.

Punished for reading?

So, my two older kids love to read so much that this morning I had to punish both of them for reading.

Well, really I punished them for being disobedient.

I told my boy to do something before he started reading the new Star Wars book I got at the library. I walked into the room and what was he doing? He was reading the book and hadn't yet followed my directions. So I told him why I was going to spank him - disobedience. Then I spanked him and afterwards he asked for forgiveness which of course I granted. Same story with my girl. I told her to make her bed and she got up there and started reading a book instead of making her bed.

I'm so glad they like to read. I just need them to obey first.
